Club Growth Director District 86 - Glynis D'souza DTM

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Wishing each of you the very best for the holiday season. Take time to celebrate your success in your Toastmasters journey this past year.

Congratulations go out to the Smedley Award winners for adding 5 or more members during August and September, and also to the clubs who renewed 100% of their members as well as those who renewed 80% or better. Your prizes will be given out during the upcoming TLI and COT sessions, and were also published in my handout at the recent Fall Conference in Niagara Falls.

What a great conference!  I hope you enjoyed my presentation of my Club Growth Garden with the new club growth of 7 new clubs and healthy membership payments. We are looking forward to strengthening the existing clubs through our club coach program (if you’d like to be a coach please contact me as soon as possible) as well as open houses. We are offering training calls by Lance Miller on Monday nights as well as a series of other speakers.  We are committed to helping you arrange Membership Drives and Open Houses for your clubs in December and January.  Remember the New Year Resolution to join Toastmasters drives a lot of people to visit a club in January!

Club Officers, please pay attention to the following matters:

  1. Now is the perfect time to plan for Club Special Events (Seasonal Parties, Club Contests & Open Houses). Remember to formally invite absent and past members and encourage active members to invite guests.  The variety in club meeting format will add fun, energize your membership, entice guests to join and remind past members what they are missing. Order prizes and tokens to appreciate your members and guests at www.toastmasters.org/shop.
  2. From Dec 19 to Jan 2, the TI Shop and Club Central will be closed for maintenance.  Charter kit shipments will be suspended and club officers will not be able to submit membership orders, new member fees, renewals or education awards online. Submit these prior to Dec 19th.
  3. Club Secretaries should "Update my club officer information" at www.toastmasters.org/clubcentral for changes to club officers roles due to six month elections or for club officers not in good standing due to unpaid renewal dues.
