Area 55 Director - Charles Kennedy ACG, ALB

area55directorArea 55 is encompasses the Niagara Falls, Welland and surrounding areas.  There are currently two clubs located in Niagara Falls, and two located in Welland Ontario.

Niagara College Toastmasters and Hatchmasters are both one hour clubs that meet over the lunch hour.  They meet on Tuesday and Thursday’s respectively. Honeymoon City Toastmasters and Rose City Toastmasters are 2 hour evening meetings on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.

All of the clubs in Area 55 are open to visitors from all over the world and new members from all over Niagara. The members of our four clubs are friendly and passionate about Toastmasters. New members receive mentoring, guidance and all the help they need to achieve personal and professional goals.

Not only do the clubs in Niagara have a strong base, there are no less than 5 past Area Governors still members and we also boast the Immediate Past Region 6 International Director, Lori Lococo as a member of our clubs.

Message from Area 55 Director

Serving as your Area Director is an honour and an incredible growth opportunity for me. Every Toastmaster season has it's own unique and inspiring highlights of positive growth, teamwork, and learning. I am looking forward to an exciting and successful 2016-2017 season where we support each other in attaining personal, team and club goals.

On August 24th, Area 55, 57 and 53 held a 3-Area Open House in St. Catharines. We held a demonstration meeting for the benefit of our guests with Table Topics, two prepared speakers and "Toastimonials". Erica Jurus, Susan Antoft and I greatly appreciated the participation and public relations efforts of all the participating clubs. Our keynote speaker, Jocelyne Vezina delivered an inspirational speech about her own Toastmasters journey and the personal growth she has achieved. We plan to host another 3-Area Open House in the spring of 2017.

For all executives and members of Area 55, I've created a document titled Area 55 Resources that contains links to the resources listed below. It will be updated regularly with documents, templates and best practices from all over District 86.
