Karim Premji: As a resident of Richmond Hill for the past 20 years, Karim Premji’s contributions to community do not go unnoticed. Karim is a member of Toastmasters International and has delivered more than 100 speeches and has led approximately two dozen workshops throughout the Region.
Karim is the convener of a public speaking workshop at Richvale Community Centre, too. In addition to this, he’s volunteers time to the Ismaili Muslim community in Richmond Hill and has acted as a volunteer Principal for an after school program at Jubilee Gardens Community Centre.
Last Thursday, April 12th at the Richmond Hill 50th Annual Volunteer Achievement Awards, Ward 6 Councillor, Godwin Chan spoke for over 3 minutes on the benefits of Toastmasters to a Volunteer crowd of 300. At least 3 times, he spoke about the highly valuable public speaking workshops (Speechcraft) at Richvale Community Centre which my club is conducting. Even our Mayor, Dave Barrow spoke about Toastmasters and the value of evaluation.
In attendance at the ceremony was fellow Richmond Hill resident and our Area 24 Governor Mario Keriakedes. He nominated me for the award.
